ASX Daily Momentum Leaders Report

Written by Christopher Hall, AdvDipFP | Authorised Representative, AFSL 526688 | June 2026

What Are the FMP Momentum Leaders?

The FMP Momentum Leaders list is the centrepiece of Finer Market Points' thematic momentum research — a weekly ranking of the 10 strongest-performing ASX stocks by quarterly price performance. Thematic momentum research at FMP means identifying which investment themes are driving market leadership right now, classifying each company as a core, peripheral, or adjacent participant in that theme, and tracking how long that leadership persists. Stocks cannot appear on this list without first appearing on the FMP Launch Pad — the early-warning signal that identifies emerging momentum candidates before they reach the Top 10.

How FMP Identifies Momentum Leaders

FMP calculates quarterly price performance across all ASX-listed stocks and ranks the top 30 by momentum score — a composite measure that weights both the magnitude and the recency of price gains. From this Top 30, the 10 strongest performers are published weekly as the Momentum Leaders.

The Launch Pad is a secondary measure within the Top 30 framework. It identifies stocks showing early-stage momentum characteristics — accelerating price change, thematic alignment, and improving relative strength — before they break into the Top 10. Historically, patterns like this have preceded significant moves, though past performance is no guarantee of future results.

The framework is updated every Saturday. Members of the FMP community receive the data at 2pm each Friday — before public publication.

Leading Thematics This Week

Leading Thematics This Week

AI / Data Centre Infrastructure

ata centre and AI infrastructure is this week's most represented theme, with four Top 10 companies carrying direct or indirect exposure. DXN Limited (DXN) announced a binding A$8.8M AI HPC data centre contract on 3 June 2026 — a deal worth more than the company's entire pre-announcement market cap — and surged +700% in two days. Megaport (MP1) continues to build as the NaaS connectivity layer for enterprise AI infrastructure. Tasmea (TEA) acquired Maxim Group to enter data centre electrical and mechanical services. Energy World Corporation (EWC) executed a US$350M turbine sale enabled by global turbine scarcity from AI electricity demand. FMP's AI and data centre momentum hub will be linked here as it is published.

Defence Technology and Digital Security

Four of this week's Top 10 carry defence technology or digital security exposure. AnteoTech (ADO) and 1414 Degrees (14D) both held Top 10 positions despite significant weekly declines — their quarterly gains from May's episodic pivot catalysts (drone battery validation and aerospace/defence division launch respectively) remain strong. archTIS (AR9) entered the list after three days — its NC Protect software is deployed in the US DoD Microsoft DoD365 environment, with the Zero Trust mandate (all DoD branches by September 2027) providing a multi-year structural catalyst. Stakk (SKK) announced an enterprise healthcare client win on 2 June, lifting its Digital Trust platform revenue run rate to A$26M. FMP's defence technology momentum hub will be linked here as it is published.

Natural Gas / LNG / Asian Energy

Jade Gas Holdings (JGH) is 45 consecutive days on the Top 30 — one of the most persistent entries in the current universe — holding on its Mongolian CBM regulatory pathway and ongoing Asian LNG supply pressure. Energy World Corporation (EWC) entered 31 days ago and this week executed a US$350M turbine sale to fund its Pagbilao LNG terminal development. Two companies, two different gas infrastructure plays, the same structural Asian energy security driver. FMP's natural gas momentum hub will be linked here as it is published.

Copper

Cobre Limited (CBE) is 28 days on the Top 30, backed by a BHP Earn-In Agreement providing up to US$25M for Botswana exploration and a binding 51% acquisition of the Sierra Atacama copper mine in Chile. BHP's willingness to fund exploration represents direct validation of the Kalahari Copper Belt asset. FMP's copper momentum hub will be linked here as it is published.

Launch Pad Performance This Week

Seven of this week's 10 momentum leaders were identified by the FMP Launch Pad before appearing on the public Top 10 list. The Launch Pad — accessible to FMP YouTube Members through the Momentum Leaders research hub — surfaces stocks building toward Top 30 qualification before they arrive there publicly. The best Launch Pad performer this week is DXN Limited (ASX: DXN) at +566.67% since identification 26 days ago — driven by the binding A$8.8M AI HPC data centre contract announced 3 June 2026, which exceeded the company's entire pre-announcement market cap. Second is 1414 Degrees (ASX: 14D) at +361.9% across 40 days. Across the seven companies with Launch Pad data, the average gain since identification is +193.6%. Three companies — Jade Gas Holdings (JGH), Tasmea (TEA), and archTIS (AR9) — have no Launch Pad entry recorded in the current data, reflecting different qualification pathways within the momentum ranking framework. Past performance is no guarantee of future results. Launch Pad return figures reflect historical gains for the stocks identified; they do not represent guaranteed outcomes.

Thematic Research Hub

FMP maintains a permanent research record for each major investment theme. Each hub page documents which companies have appeared in the momentum framework, what drove each cycle, and how long momentum persisted. These pages are updated each time a new company article or weekly update references that theme.

Active thematic hubs will appear here as they are published. Themes currently in development: Gold, Copper, Energy and Oil & Gas, Uranium, Critical Minerals, AI and Medical Technology, Defence.
