Brightstar Resources Limited (ASX: BTR) is a Western Australian gold developer consolidating three project hubs — Laverton, Menzies and Sandstone — into a single owner-operated production platform, with a January 2026 Feasibility Study underpinning a company-owned 1.5Mtpa processing plant now under construction at Laverton. The company entered the FMP Top 10 momentum framework for the first time on the back of a run of drilling results at its Two Mile Hill-Shillington deposit, part of the Sandstone Gold Project — a deep extensional discovery on 3 August 2026, a follow-up find in late August, and an infill result confirming both on 27 August 2026, the same week Brightstar appeared at rank #4.

Why Brightstar Appeared in the FMP Top 10

At the data-capture point used for this article — Thursday 27 August 2026, captured intraday, pre-close — Brightstar Resources ranked #4 on the FMP momentum list, its first appearance across 14 weekly readings recorded since 30 May 2026. The stock carried a weekly gain of 22.92% (rank #13 for the week) and a quarterly gain of 78.79% (rank #10 for the quarter). It had been on the FMP Top 30 momentum list for 15 sessions and had been flagged on the FMP Launch Pad — the pre-catalyst early-identification tier of FMP's proprietary research — for 39 sessions, returning 66.20% since it first entered the Launch Pad. These figures were captured intraday on 27 August 2026, ahead of the session close — they reflect a provisional, not a settled closing, price, and should be read with that qualification.

The move traces to a sequence of dated drilling releases at Two Mile Hill, not a single announcement:

  • 3 August 2026 — A deep extensional drillhole intersected a much wider tonalite than previously interpreted, producing a bulk intercept of 305.4m @ 1.82g/t Au.

  • 25 August 2026 — Brightstar reported the discovery of the "Shirvington Zone," a deeper mineralised extension of the host tonalite (referenced in Brightstar's own later release; the source document was not reviewed for this article and its content is not otherwise described here).

  • 27 August 2026 — Infill drilling above the Shirvington Zone returned a further bulk intercept of 225.7m @ 3.11g/t Au, confirming both the scale and the grade of the extension.

What Pattern Did Brightstar Show?

This is an episodic pivot built from a short chain of company-specific news rather than a single event: three dated releases inside a month, each adding to the picture the last one opened. Pradeep Bonde, who developed the episodic pivot methodology, describes exactly this kind of pattern-recognition exercise:

"On the weekend I study stocks which are up 50% plus in last two months. I go and do a deep dive on them — what catalyst was there, how did the move start, what is the capitalization. You'll see that capitalization below 10 billion. If you study past big movers, you'll debunk myths in 5 minutes."
— Pradeep Bonde

Brightstar's 78.79% quarterly move fits that description closely: a small-cap gold developer, a traceable dated catalyst chain, and a move that started with one drillhole and was confirmed by a second inside three weeks. About Brightstar Resources and Two Mile Hill

Brightstar Resources is an emerging Western Australian gold developer holding a consolidated Mineral Resource base attributable to the company of 4,459koz (4.46Moz) across the Laverton, Menzies and Sandstone hubs, all within the Tier-1 jurisdiction of Western Australia (Brightstar Resources Limited, 27 August 2026, "Exceptional wide, high-grade intercept of 226m @ 3.11g/t Au returned from infill drilling at Two Mile Hill"). The company's near-term production plan centres on the Goldfields Hub (Laverton and Menzies): a January 2026 updated Feasibility Study set out production of more than 75,000oz per annum for six years, delivering an estimated A$606 million NPV8 and a 74% internal rate of return. Construction of a company-owned 1.5Mtpa processing plant at Laverton is underway, with first gold production targeted for June 2027.

Two Mile Hill-Shillington, part of the separate Sandstone Hub, is the deposit behind this article. It currently hosts a Mineral Resource Estimate of 14.6Mt @ 1.6g/t Au for 731koz Au, split between Indicated (190koz) and Inferred (541koz) categories — there is no Measured Mineral Resource at this deposit. Every intercept described in this article is an Exploration Result, not a Mineral Resource — the new drilling has not yet been incorporated into that 731koz estimate.

On 3 August 2026, Brightstar reported that a deep extensional drillhole, TMHRCD26020, had intersected a substantially wider zone of mineralised tonalite than the company's existing model anticipated, ending in mineralisation at 657.3m depth with the hole left open for potential re-entry. The bulk, unconstrained intercept was 305.4m @ 1.82g/t Au from 351.9m, including higher-grade zones of 17.5m @ 9.68g/t Au (with 1.1m @ 103g/t Au) and 34.6m @ 4.11g/t Au (with 1.5m @ 46.7g/t Au). Managing Director Alex Rovira described the implications:

"This new deep drilling could have a material impact on the scale upside of the Two Mile Hill-Shillington deposit. Initial interpretations are that we may be seeing a blow-out of the intrusion to both the east and west at depth, substantially increasing the volume of a prospective host unit. Combined with numerous intersections of visible gold, and the significant intercepts right to end-of-hole, this development is hugely exciting for potential growth."
— Alex Rovira, Managing Director, Brightstar Resources

Three weeks later, on 27 August 2026, assay results from infill drilling above the newly identified Shirvington Zone confirmed the pattern at a shallower level. Drillhole TMHRCD26006A returned 225.7m @ 3.11g/t Au from 284m, including 19m @ 24.3g/t Au (with a single 1m interval assaying 449g/t Au) and 19.1m @ 2.76g/t Au from 477m. A second hole, TMHRCD26004, returned 194m @ 2.10g/t Au from 286m, including 13m @ 4.35g/t Au. Rovira framed the confirmation this way:

"The latest results continue to demonstrate the broad widths of the Two Mile Hill deposit and high-grade nature of the quartz veining within the host tonalite, with individual grades reaching 449g/t Au. These infill results validate that concept, illustrating both grade and scale. The infill drilling increases geological confidence, with the results to be incorporated into the next Mineral Resource Estimate update and pre-feasibility study, both targeted for release in November 2026."
— Alex Rovira, Managing Director, Brightstar Resources

Both the Mineral Resource Estimate update and the underground mining pre-feasibility study for Two Mile Hill — the latter being prepared with mining consultancy Entech — are management guidance for November 2026, not confirmed outcomes.

Thematic Context

Brightstar was not the only gold name in this week's FMP Top 10 — a rising gold price backdrop carried three separate gold companies into the list the same week Brightstar first appeared, consistent with the broader sector strength gold explorers and developers have shown through the second half of 2026. Two other Western Australian gold explorers have entered the FMP Top 10 in recent months: the King River Resources ASX momentum note covers King River Resources (ASX: KRR), and the RMI momentum profile covers Resource Minerals International (ASX: RMI), a multi-jurisdiction copper-gold explorer — both, like Brightstar, Western Australian gold explorers.

JORC Note: All figures reported from the 3 and 27 August 2026 Two Mile Hill drilling in this article are JORC (2012) Exploration Results — they are not yet incorporated into the deposit's Mineral Resource Estimate. The existing 731koz Two Mile Hill-Shillington Mineral Resource Estimate referenced above is split between Indicated (190koz) and Inferred (541koz) categories; there is no Measured Mineral Resource at this deposit, and it is uncertain whether further exploration and evaluation work will support the estimate upgrades management has flagged for November 2026.
